Project Scope

Graycor completed a 15,000-square-foot renovation of BP’s facilities in west suburban Naperville, Ill. The project houses BP’s polypropylene business which the company relocated from the Atlanta area.

Three floors were reconfigured to convert closed offices to a state-of-the-art open plan collaborative work environ-ment, and an interior stairway was built to promote interac-tion among the floors. The project also included constructing a 1,000-square-foot powder mixing room to support polymer finishing in the adjacent building. Graycor utilized concurrent engineering practices to expedite the design and shop drawing phase for the proposed monumental stairway. This practice employed the simultaneous design and shop drawing development to accelerate the time frame as much as two months.
