Project Scope

Graycor Construction Company completed the retrofit of a Century Theatres located within Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale, Ill., a suburb west of Chicago. The project brought a completely renovated, state of the art theater experience to audiences.

Graycor’s work on the project included re-grading the existing theater’s floor to accommodate the addition of 12 new screens to bring the total to 16 screens, all fully equipped with digital surround sound. The work also included the installation of stadium seating, and raising the existing theater’s ceiling to fit the taller screens.

Miscellaneous demolition, concrete and steel work, installation of a new stairway exit, shoring existing utilities and removal of pipe, shoring of steel supports for skylights and structural steel, laying new 2,010 amp power service, installation of three new air flow ductwork air handlers, removal of a rusty deck and a whole floor, and reinforcement of existing columns with x braces was done throughout the project.
