Project Scope

Graycor Industrial completed an equipment installation project at BP’s refinery in Whiting, Indiana. The project included performing heavy rigging, installation and final setting of components for the new coker facility. Components included coke drums, vessels, piping modules, structural steel and miscellaneous equipment. The facility was erected in modular lifts, with the individual picks weighing from 5 tons up to 625 tons. To achieve the heaviest lifts, Graycor’s team utilized a 1,800-ton-capacity Mammoet PTC ring configuration crane, as well as an 800-ton-capacity Liebherr LR 1800 crane.
